These terms apply when you install CardIntel: BIN & Prepaid Tags from Shopify. They are not legal advice and are not a substitute for review by licensed counsel. Shopify’s Partner and App Store terms also apply. If they conflict with these terms on a platform issue, Shopify’s terms control for that issue.
The app looks up card BIN data after checkout (and on install audit / re-check). When the BIN is in our reference table and the check is billed, it may:
If Shopify gives no card BIN (for example PayPal or cash on delivery) or the BIN is not in our table, we skip that order: no billed check, no tags, no note.
That is Audit Mode. The app does not cancel orders, hold fulfillment, or email your staff. You may use Shopify Flow on tags if you want extra automation. You are solely responsible for how you act on tags and notes (including any cancel, refund, or hold you configure).
BIN data and detectors can be wrong or incomplete. Tags and notes are signals for your review, not a fraud decision, credit decision, or legal finding. We do not promise fewer chargebacks, blocked fraud, or any particular loss reduction. The app is not a substitute for Shopify Protect, your payment provider’s fraud tools, or professional fraud operations.
The free plan has a check cap counted over a rolling 30 days (the current UTC day plus the previous 29). A check counts only when a card BIN is present and found in our table. Paid plans are charged only through the Shopify Billing API, recurring every 30 days from subscribe: Growth has a higher check cap; Pro has no check cap. If your shop has not used a trial before, Shopify grants a free trial period first (14 days at the time of writing) on the first paid plan you start, and charges nothing until it ends; one trial per shop, so a reinstall does not grant another. You can change or cancel a paid plan in App Home (Cancel to Free, or switch Growth and Pro). Cancel before the trial ends and no charge is taken. You can also cancel the charge from the Shopify admin. We do not take card payments ourselves. Shopify’s terms also apply to those charges. A paid plan does not mean every order is checked: an order with no card BIN, or a BIN we cannot resolve, is skipped on any plan, as described above. If you decline a charge, or cancel later, you stay on the free cap rather than losing the app. Prices, caps, and trial length shown in the app may change; the charge Shopify shows you at confirmation is the price you accept.
After the cap, we still look up the BIN but we do not apply full risk tags or write the verification report; we may add a teaser tag when a detector fires. Re-check of teaser-tagged orders is available in App Home when quota remains in the current 30-day window.
You must have the Shopify rights (including protected customer data access) needed for BIN and country fields. You must use the app only on shops you are authorized to administer. Do not use the app to break Shopify’s, card-network, or applicable law. You must not reverse engineer the BIN table except as allowed by law.
Uninstalling stops new analysis. We drop API credentials on app/uninstalled so a later reinstall can authenticate again without using a stale token. Shopify later sends shop/redact; we then mark the shop redacted as described in the Privacy Policy. Aggregates and shop domain may remain unless you ask us to delete them and law requires or we agree to delete.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features (including detectors and plan caps) with or without notice, except where Shopify or law requires notice. We do not warrant uninterrupted service.
The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the extent allowed by law.
To the extent allowed by law, CardIntel: BIN & Prepaid Tags is not liable for missed fraud, false tags or notes, missed or delayed orders, chargebacks, lost profits, or payment disputes. Shopify remains responsible for checkout and its Billing API.
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability arising out of the app is limited to the amounts you paid for the app through Shopify in the three (3) months before the claim (or, if you were only on the free cap, zero). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the maximum permitted.
You will defend and indemnify CardIntel: BIN & Prepaid Tags against claims arising from your store, your buyers, your use of tags or order notes (including automation you add), or your breach of these terms or Shopify’s terms, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator named below, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where a mandatory local rule applies to you. Courts with jurisdiction over that operator may hear disputes, unless a mandatory forum applies.
